The Association of African Universities (AAU) is pleased to announce the 2015 maiden edition of the ECOWAS Fellowship Programme for Masters and PhD (EFP) under the sponsorship of the Economic Commission for West African States (ECOWAS). The Programme seeks to promote capacity building within the ECOWAS 15-member countries by providing full fellowships for training and education for nationals of ECOWAS member states in higher education institutions of ECOWAS.

Eligibility: The Programme is open to qualified nationals (including graduate students, researchers, lecturers, and staff) of ECOWAS member states who will be admitted for Masters or PhD degree programme at any one of the following three universities:
(a). University of Lagos, Nigeria
(b). University of Ibadan, Nigeria
(c). Université Cheikh Anta Diop, Senegal

The U.S. Borlaug Fellows in Global Food Security graduate research grant program supports exceptional graduate students who are interested in developing a component of their graduate research in a developing country setting and in collaboration with a mentor from an International Agricultural Research Center (IARC), or a qualifying* National Agricultural Research System (NARS) unit. We anticipate the fellowship program will lay a foundation for launching long-term international research collaborations for the students and their affiliated faculty advisors and IARC/NARS mentors. We envision that the group of graduate students supported by the program will eventually assume leadership positions in a wide variety of organizations, and across an array of disciplines related to food security.

This is to announce a call for applications for research scholarships to support the finalization of PhD research, data analysis, thesis write up, publication and dissemination of findings. Scholarships will be awarded to candidates registered in the Regional Programmes as listed below and are finalizing their studies. The purpose of these scholarships is to support students who do not have adequate finances to complete their degree studies and research work. The scholarship also aims at enabling the students to discuss their results with the communities they worked with.
